Collecting Klein: Grainne Rice

Over the past 19 years I must have acquired more than a hundred vintage Bernat Klein pieces.

Mostly I collect wildly colourful 1970s’ Diolen© (polyester jersey) printed dresses and skirts, but I also have some examples of Klein’s 1960s’ luxe weaves, velvet tweeds, yarns, delicate spider-webby hand-knitted mohair pieces, fabrics and objects, and bits of Bernat Klein branding ephemera I’ve found along the way. Like so many fans of his work I love the bold artistic use of colour, I feel like I am wearing an artwork when I am wearing a Bernat Klein.
